A city.

Utrecht, The Netherlands.

Due to lack of time and other adversities of being "independient" my partner won't participate directly in some of the next posts; I said directly because he's an influence in my perspective of life and is already implicit in all my actions, in a good way (I hope).

It is not the first experience I've been abroad, but the one I am currently living is especially rich and interesting. Leaving parent’s home has always been a hard decision but even more difficult when it is about your native country, your friends and your whole family; however theidiosyncrasy and other facts around culture have been enriching my whole life espheres. The universe brought me to settle down in this place called Utrecht, located in the heart of The Netherlands.

Utrecht is a fascinating living example of the morphology of a historical city in Europe. Enough organized for the releif of the Dutch neuroticism. From my point of view, I'll say clean and pure but moved. This place is not a boring ghost town took out from Clint Eastwood movies. Actually, the culture and the artistic weight behind give to this city spiral movements that won't allow you to be indifferent .Nevertheless, to get away from reality, several options are offered: you just need to take your bike and have a 5 minutes cycle in the forest that surely astonished and inspired many Impressionist painters.

Cheers and enjoy visiting,
C.

A book.

Cien Años de Soledad by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

Complexity is one of the most natural characteristics which defines it as a unique human being in a connected network of profiles. One Hundred Years of Solitude gives a global view of all the espheres as an individual and in community, through the magical believes connected with nature and what humanity feels is beyond the known. In this book, the family Buendia is like a tree which solidifies up with the number of members that are adhering to it. The branches of this tree grow while transmitting the curse that has this family which condemn and liberate them at the same time; making it one of the most important novels in Latin American history for its content and legitimation of colombian culture.

A trip.

Majestuosa ciudad, that's how we could define Buenos Aires. Imagine a canvas where the artist creates a melange with a background of ancient culture, a contrast of Parisian Haussmann style and Spanish colonial buildings, a brushstroke of latin passion and omnipresent nature which harpoons your heart and over warms your soul.

Puerto Madero.

Monumento a las Cuatro Regiones Argentinas.
Avenida Sarmiento.

Places we highly recommend:

Ateneo Grand Splendid.

Recoletta District.

3 de Febrero Park.

Caminito
La Boca District.

Thelonious Jazz Club
Palermo District.

And here is a few advices for the curious spirits out there:

-Two writers: Julio Cortazar and Jorge Luis Borges
-Two artists : Xul Solar and Milo Lockett
-Two singers : Mercedes Sosa and Carlos Gardel
-Two musicians : Astor Piazzolla and Fito Paez

Enjoy visiting,
Pierre and Camila.

La nostalgie du passé

Have you ever played L.A Noire videogame? Driving a Cadillac and listening to the 40's music on the radio made me travel in the old USA. You know, red oil gas stations in the middle of giant deserts, big noisy trains traveling from San francisco to New York. You walk in a jungle of cement and a jazz bar suddenly appears and you can see people listening to black musicians sweating in a small cellar, caughing in trompets and saxophones. There is a dense cloud of cigarrette which keeps an intimate atmosphere and outside in the minewhile, the wind of the north comes and freezes your nose.
